Suddenly has me looking for cars I can race for less than I can get into golf. This little Escort GT was just listed.

The Escort GT has the same 1.8L Mazda engine they used in the updated 1st gen Miata and the Protege. With a 5 speed those are great little cars.
I would look for the GT over anything else. The base engine is hopeless.

The non GT is incredibly meh in about every sense of the word. Boring looking economy sedan with a boring economy engine. They did a great job with both engine and styling on the GT.
